International Day of Reading was Celebrated in South Gondar Zone

The head of the South Gondar Zone ADA Coordinating Office, Ato Mesafint Lebesie, said that Read CO.  project helped the children learn to read, write, and compute. The International Reading Day, which is being celebrated  From in 1967, Kanat County in Farta District is selected as a Model to Celebrate the Literacy Day  and the event  have a significant impact on the development of Children’s  reading Culture.

 The Community Reading Cap project is sponsored by USAID, implementing  in collaboration with ADA and Save the children  Read CO project,  in 117 cluster, 245 schools,  and 389 language teachers, principals and parents' families.

In  South Gondar the 10 Districts  of the project, 229  books have  been distributed. For the same reason, above  5 million dollars have been made.

 The Amhara Development Association (ADA) Project Management Director, Hamid Ahmed on his part noted that Education  is one of the areas of interest to focus on. He added that  ADA in Collaboration with Save the children Read CO. striving to insure  quality Education with community-based development Project.

The director added that ADA Read CO. runs 28 circuits in 3 zones in 728 schools. He said that in 10 woredas and 245 schools in South Gondar Zone, this is part of the project. He urged the parents, the government and other stakeholders to be able to work with the project to make the project beneficial for the project.

ADA and Save the Children  Leaders and professionals were rewarded with award-winning and rewarding prizes for children who won a literary competition by dedicating the day to Kanat County.
